Hi-Shear Corporation’s focus is on the prevention of defects as opposed to the correction of defects. SPC plays an integral role in this focus on prevention. A fully computerized SPC system, the identification, measurement and control of Key characteristics and Key Process parameters coupled with dedicated focus teams constantly seeking improvement, result in "World Class" quality.

Hi-Shear Corporation takes pride in fostering close relationships with its customers to better understand both their requirements and desires. Maintaining these relationships results in improved communications, eliminates ambiguity and develops mutual trust and respect.

Hi-Shear Corporation’s Advanced Quality System is based on SAE AS9100 and Boeing Document D6-82479, Appendix A, Addendum 1, and is approved by virtually every major aircraft builder in the world. In addition to supplying fasteners and fastening systems to American airframe companies and to the U.S. Government, our products are supplied throughout Europe, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South America, Australia, New Zealand, China and Japan.

Hi-Shear fasteners are manufactured, tested and inspected in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration Technical Standard Order (TSO) C148 and as such are excluded from the 1999 Amended Fastener Quality Act P.L. 101-592.

QUALITY POLICY

The fundamental policy of Hi-Shear Corporation is to continuously provide products and services that fulfill the expectations of our customers and to maintain our reputation as the manufacturing leader of quality products.

The management of Hi-Shear Corporation considers the above objective an integral part of each manager’s responsibilities and duties. The quality and reliability levels demanded of our products requires a constant focus on continuous improvement. Every manager is expected to promote quality awareness and to provide the tools, training and the environment to enable every employee to produce fully conforming products, each and every time. In turn, every employee, regardless of job assignment or title, is expected to be fully responsible for the quality of his or her product, whether provided to an internal or external customer.

Hi-Shear management is committed to this policy and will provide all reasonable resources to ensure a systematic, organized approach to remain the leading supplier of the highest quality products and services in our industry. Hi-Shear recognizes AS9100:2001, ISO9001:2000, and Boeing Document D6-82479, Appendix A, Addendum 1 as the preferred method of advancing the quality of its products, services and people.

  1. HSC is committed to providing quality products on time and at reasonable costs.
     
  2. HSC managers are expected to consider quality as one of the most important elements of their job.
     
  3. HSC will provide all required resources to allow every employee to provide quality products each and every time.
     

HI-SHEAR AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTORS

There are two different levels of Hi-Shear Corporation Distributors.  Hi-Shear Authorized Distributors which are subject to audits by Hi-Shear Quality Assurance and all others.

Authorized Distributor: If approved following an initial on-site audit, Hi-Shear Quality Assurance requests Boeing to include that distributor in Boeing document D1-4426 which is utilized worldwide. Periodic on-site audits are conducted to ensure continued compliance.

Others: Other Distributors which may or may not have mature Quality Systems, may make minimum or infrequent purchases or where territories may conflict with an Authorized Distributor.
