  • Netscape Navigator 3.0 or greater (4.0 or greater recommended)
  • Screen resolution of 600 x 800 or greater
  • Graphics adapter capable of more than 256 colors
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0
  • 28.8 or faster modem

Browser

The browser you use when viewing the Hi-Shear's web site is really your choice. We have designed the site to be compatible with several versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator (or Communicator). The version, however, is very important. Netscape users should use at least version 3.0, preferably version 4.0 or above. Although the web site will work with version 3.0, you might get unexpected results with this browser. Users of Internet Explorer should use version 4.01 or greater. We have not tested the web site with Internet Explorer versions below 4.01.  We also recommend that you have JavaScript enabled. Some of the buttons will not function properly without using JavaScript.

Screen Resolution

This means that the web site will remain a fixed width, no matter how much resolution your screen and graphics adapter are capable of. With a width of approximately 600 pixels, this should provide compatibility with all screen sizes. Thus our recommendation of a minimum 600 x 800 screen resolution.

Adobe Acrobat 4.0

Certain features on this web site require you to use Adobe Acrobat Viewer version 4.0. Adobe Acrobat is a popular portable document application. It allows printed material to easily be transferred over the Internet and printed from virtually any computer system. You should make sure to obtain Acrobat from Adobe before you attempt to download material from this web site. Acrobat is available at no cost from Adobe. Modem Speed

The average page will take between 20 and 30 seconds to download the text, menu, and images. We strongly recommend a minimum 28.8k baud modem be used. A 56k baud modem is highly recommended. If available, using an broadband connection such as T1, DSL, or cable modem will provide superior results.
